Actor and songstress Paramita Rana launched her fashion brand label NYLA amid a function held at Karma Lounge in Kathmandu over the weekend.
“We borrowed elements of designing from the styles that are in vogue in New York and Los Angeles, and gave them a Nepali touch,” said Rana, speaking at the launch, “Our focus will be on presenting a distinguished brand for Kathmandu’s shoppers.”
Active in modelling since 2011, Rana rose to fame with her debut role in Chapali Height 2. Rana also has a music album to her credit, which was released earlier in 2017.
The brand, NYLA, is currently producing shirts, pants and jackets and, according to Rana, will focus on creative leatherwear in the future.
The launch event also saw Rana perform some of her original songs and a few cover songs.
The brand NYLA will be based out of Pulchowk, Lalitpur. Rana is also slated to feature in the film Udaan, slated to be announced soon.Published: 2017-12-05 08:49:33
