Voting for the second phase of House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly election is underway at Chitwan district.
People from various parts of the district have reached their respective polling centres to cast their ballot.
Meanwhile, vehicular movement and market places have mainly remained shut. Bicycle riders, rickshaw ambulance and other essential vehicles are only plying on the road.
Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, a candidate of the left alliance, and his spouse Sita Dahal also cast their vote from Shantipur Adharbhut School at Bharatpur-14 today morning.
Forest Minister and RPP (Prajatantrik) Vice Chairman Bikram Pandey, Nepali Congress candidate and Education Minister Shesh Nath Adhikari, left alliance candidate and CPN-UML leader Surendra Pandey also cast their votes from various polling stations across the district.
Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta informed that voting is underway in a peaceful manner adding that stringent security measures have been adopted to prevent any untoward incidents.
