The federal government has rejected Province 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut’s visit to The United States.
The Province 2 Chief Minister had sought permission from the federal government to travel to the US after being invited to a programme by General Convention of Madhesi Association in America.
The federal government has declined the Province 2 CM’s request as the province government is yet to prepare annual policy, programme and budget for next fiscal year adding that the legislative body is still preparing to formulate vital laws, hence Raut should not make any foreign visit and give his time to his province.
Province 2 CM Raut had given controversial remarks during the civil felicitation programme held in Janakpur and organised in the honour of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the constitution of Nepal was biased against the Madhesi people.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had also objected to the remarks made by the province chief minister during his address at the federal parliament.
