The government has revoked all the political appointments made by the erstwhile Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government after August 30, 2017. A Cabinet meeting late on Wednesday annulled the appointments citing that the former government made political appointments after the Election Code of Conduct came into effect.
“All political appointments to various government authority, organisation, council, board committee and organisations under company act made by Nepal government after the enforcement of code of conduct for Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly election on August 30,2017, have been annulled,” said government Spokesperson and Minister Information and Communications Gokul Prasad Banskota.
The government has also decided to table the Medical Education Bill that was withdrawn following protest from the opposition.
The Cabinet has decided to take ownership of the 15-bed community hospital based in Syangja. The government has also decided to send a team to the Chinese Capital, Beijing, to hold discussions on the protocol of Nepal-China trade and transit agreement and sign the agreement.
According to Minister Banskota, the government has decided to allow the Ministry of Finance to increase the threshold of deposit guarantee. The Cabinet has also decided to approve the land revenue (7th amendment) regulations-2075, Nepal Army Service (first amendment) Regulations-2075. The meeting also decided to approve the organisational structure and staff postings of the Ministry of Communication and Ministry of Finance.
