foraging and breeding in these rivers.
Dolphins migrate to the tributaries of Mohana from Karnali and Ganga rivers through Geruwa river and Chaugurdighat area every year during monsoon.
Dhungana Tol, the confluence of Kandra, Kanda, Pathraiya and Mohana rivers is a favourite foraging ground for the migratory dolphins.
The people residing close to the Mohana river have suggested developing the area as a tourist destination to boost local economy as well as generate funds to support dolphin conservation works.
They have urged the local government to upgrade the 2km road stretch from Sunphanta to Dhungana Tol and plan other infrastructure to draw tourists for dolphin watching.Published: 2018-07-11 07:49:45
