The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and drew his attention to the deteriorating health condition of Dr Govinda KC.
Dr KC has been staging fast-unto-death in Jumla since June 30 demanding reforms in medical education and health sectors.
It has been learnt that the former Prime Minister asked PM Oli to save life of Dr KC and address his demands at the earliest.
According to a statement issued by NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, Deuba also expressed his opinion that the issues related to Dr KC would be resolved only if the government tabled that National Medication Education Bill without amendment in the Parliament.
He also said that his party would be forced to confront if the government tried to table the Bill by altering its major provisions to allow establishment of new medical colleges in Kathmandu Valley.
