Month-long bolbam festival concludes (In Photos)

- Post Report, Kathmandu

A month-long bolbam festival has concluded on Monday.

Thousands of devotees, all dressed alike in saffron robes, have gathered in Sundarijal on the last Monday of Shrawan month to fetch water. Devotees walk barefoot to Sundarijal from various parts of Kathmandu Valley to fetch water and offer it to Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and Doleshwor Mahadev Temple in Bhaktapur.

There is a belief that offering sacred water to Shiva on every Monday of Shrawan month will wash away their sins and will also get their wishes fulfilled.

The festival is observed by many Hindu devotees across the country.
