‘Fostering partnership between humanitarian innovators’

- Post Report, Kathmandu

Nepal Communitere, a non-profit working towards collaboration on innovative social impact projects, is organising the Kathmandu Mini Maker Faire, a gathering of innovators from around the world working towards solving “some of the greatest social challenges facing our communities”. The two-day event will take place on September 22 and 23.

“The Kathmandu Mini Maker Faire is a festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness which can lead to transformative change,” the organisers said. The oncoming iteration of the annual fest will have displays and booths, speaker sessions and interactive workshops providing a platform for ‘makers’ to come together to generate and share ideas and innovations.

According to the organisers, this year’s festival will focus on five primary objectives—to highlight the growth of global humanitarian makers; create a platform to apply design thinking in building a better future; showcase innovative approaches to health, education and environmental challenges; foster partnerships between humanitarian makers; and provide seed funding to incubate promising projects in Nepal.
