Karnali province Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Naresh Bhandari have reached Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla to meet Dr Govinda KC on Thursday.
The health condition of Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging an indefinite hunger strike at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) in Jumla since last Saturday, has been worsening day by day, doctors involved in his treatment said.
District Administration Jumla on Monday wrote a letter to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences directing it to do everything possible for the treatment of Dr Govinda KC after the latter’s health started deteriorating.
Apple production in Jumla has increased slightly to 3,400 tonnes this year compared to the 3,000 tonnes recorded last year. But bad road’s in Nepal’s apple heartland have severely affected the transportation of apples to markets across the country.
