Post photo journo honoured with Babuchiri award

Reporters’ Club Nepal felicitated photographer of The Kathmandu Post Shruti Shrestha with Babuchiri award worth Rs. 25,000 on the occasion of its 13th anniversary.

After receiving the award, Shrestha handed over the cash prize to Dil Shobha Shrestha, who runs an orphanage-cum-old age home called Ama Ghar in the Capital.

Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion, Club’s Chairman Rishi Dhamala said the media club has set up various awards for journalists. This year’s Birendra Shah memorial journalism award worth Rs. 15,000 was handed over to Brijkumar Yadav.

Similarly, Girija Prasad journalism award of Rs. 101,111 was awarded to senior journalist Harihar Birahi. Krishna Sen Icchuk journalism award worth Rs, 25,000 was given to Manarishi Dhital.

Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala jointly gave away the prizes.
