Oli’s rank upgrade boon for party: Bhandari
Dec 31, 2011-
CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bidya Bhandari remarked that the establishment’s decision to take leader KP Oli to the third rank in the party is a positive gesture towards unity within the party.
“There is no one with the caliber of Oli. His arrival in the top ranks would definitely prove to be a boon for the party,” said Bhandari. Speaking with the media persons at Gachhiya of Morang district, Bhandari said that the ‘note of dissent’ presented by Amrit Kumar Bohara, against the decision to bring Oli as a top rank leader in the party, was just a personal opinion.
“Bohora stated his personal dissatisfaction. However, everyone has to follow the decision of the party. Oli was given the rank for a reason,” Bhandari said.
“Oli’s contributions for the party and country have been commendable. He spent 14 years in prison and participated in every major movement in the country. There is no one with as strong ideology as Oli,” said Bhandari.
In a different context, Bhandari said that unlawful integration in Nepal Army in the name of inclusiveness would not be tolerated. Bhandari stated that the integration of 6,500 Maoist combatants would not make a difference, but integration in terms of caste can cause a serious problem in the security system.
