Oct 14, 2012-
The songs Ubho Ubho Khaasa, Baadal Paari ko Desh, Natanut ta Tanu Lagne resonate in our minds as we remember Raju Lama and his band Mongolian Heart. In their career of two decades, Mongolian Heart have managed to take up a special place in the Nepali music scene, delivering several hit albums back-to-back.
The band has now come up with their seventh album Mongolian Heart Volume 6, which was launched during an event held at 8 Degrees, Jhamsikhel, on Friday. The album was launched jointly by Raju Lama’s family and the Mongolian Heart band members. “We have worked hard for this volume and are eagerly waiting for the audience’s response,” said Lama. Lama also took an opportunity to thank all those who contributed in making the release of this album possible. In the event organised by Criss Creations and TH Events, they performed previous hits such as Mero Nepal, Maya Bhannu, and Sherpini Aaji.
The new album comprises 11 songs—eight new including Herda Herdai, Sunana, Maya Bhannu and three old bonus tracks Bhawanama, Tunganako Dhunaima and Mero Nepal. Most of the songs are written by vocalist Lama himself and the music has been composed by band members Bobby Lama (guitar), Kiran Nagarkoti (guitar), Santosh Thapa (drums), Dhipendra Man Singh (keyboard), and Pawan Kapali (bass).
Mongolian Heart debuted in 1993 and have been honoured by many awards including the Music Nepal Gold Medal in 1999, Kantipur FM Awards, Hits FM and Image Awards. They had previously taken out albums Soltini (1994), Mongolian Heart (1996), Mongolian Heart Volume 2 (1999), Mongolian Heart Volume 3 (2002), Mongolian Heart Volume 4 (2006), and Mongolian Heart Volume 5 (2009).
