UML lawmakers handed pen, notebook to write constitution
In a symbolic pressure, All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU) has provided pens and notebooks to all lawmakers elected from the CPN-UML to write constitution on time.Ekantipur Report
ANNFSU, student wing of the CPN-UML, gave a pen and notebook to 173 CA members from the party on Tuesday. Receiving the materials, party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said it would inspire the CA members to concentrate on constitution writing.
Khanal added that he would make utmost efforts to end factionalism in the party to make it united in the upcoming ninth general convention of the party.
Similarly, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said the party was committed to fulfill people's aspiration by bringing the first draft of the constitution in six months and promulgate it within a year. He argued that his party had a clear vision on maintaining pro-people governance.
Vice-Chairpersons Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Bam Dev Gautam, leader KP Sharma Oli said it was time to learn lessons from past weaknesses so as to deliver constitution and act accordingly. They also said they would devote to writing a democratic constitution.
ANNFSU Chairman Kishor Bikram Malla suggested the party leaders to address the people's desire for change and write constitution accordingly.
