Four dairy farmers injured in clash with police
Four farmers were injured in a clash that took place between the dairy farmers and police in Chitwan district on Friday.The clash took place between police and dairy farmers, who reached at the District Administration Office (DAO), Chitwan, to submit a memorandum demanding hike in the price of milk.
The farmers including Narayan Prasad Chapagain, Krishna Prasad Sodari and Kishor Poudel were injured in the incident. They have received injuries to their hand and face. Farmers said that the clash took place after police baton-charged on them while they were trying to submit the memo to the Chief District Officer demanding hike in the price of milk. They had reached the DAO organising a rally from Chaubiskothi of Bharatpur.
The farmers now have been protesting saying police highhanded them. Talks are underway between the farmers and police on the issue.
The farmers have released agitation programmes under the leadership of the District Dairy Producers' Cooperatives Association to pile pressure for having their demands addressed.
