Governor of China's Yunnan province, Ex-Malaysian PM in town
Governor of Yunnan Province of China, Li Jiheng, arrived here in the Capital on Saturday for a two-day formal visit to Nepal, leading a seven-member delegation.Ekantipur Report
Li arrived in Kathmandu to extend invitation to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala for the Second China-South Asia Exposition.
Ambassador of China to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Prakash Kumar Subedi, and Protocol Officer Bijay Bahadur Raut welcomed Governor Li at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
According to MoFA, Governor Li is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhim Prasad Acharya.
Likewise, former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad arrived here for his four-day visit to Nepal, leading an 11-member delegation.
The former Malaysian Prime Minister will be attending the Nepal Economic Summit-2014 taking place in Kathmandu next week. He will be the keynote speaker at the business conclave to be organised by the government of Nepal and the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI).
Joint Secretary at the MoFA, Arjun Kanta Mainali, FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya and high-ranking officials at the Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu welcomed the former Malaysian Prime Minister at the TIA.
Mohamad is scheduled to call on President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala separately during his visit.
