Albatross’ Ma Ra Malai launch gig at Silence

Mar 27, 2014-

Rock band Albatross are all set to launch their newest album Ma Ra Malai on March 29. Their fourth studio album, what the band—currently comprised of Sirish Dali on vocals, Sunny Manandhar on guitar, Avaya Siddhi Bajracharya on bass and Kismat Shrestha on drums—describes as their “best effort yet”, will be released amid a concert at the premises of Silence Entertainment in Tangal.

Albatross first came together in the late 1990s, and have been a staple on the Nepali rock scene since, their sound changing and evolving with each new album they’ve put out. The band’s bid to “play music that people can relate to” has been successful, winning them a substantial fanbase, popularity that has been further boosted by their live performances, playing regularly as they do to packed crowds around the country and abroad.

Ma Ra Malai comprises eight tracks, and will be on sale at the event.  Supported by Ruslan Vodka, Chahana Samuha, BN Events, BTL Rocks, All Star Club, Silence Entertainment, Eleven11production and Fuzz Factory Productions, the gig will also include a performance by Bobin Bajracharya of the Himalayan Connection.

Cover charge is Rs 150, and Rs 200 (with CD). Doors open at 3 pm
