Confusion shrouds over NC PP working committee
The Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party (PP) working committee could not take shape on Friday as the party failed to hold election even as the efforts for consensus eluded.Ekantipur Report
Earlier, the party had planned for election today if the three-member committee formed to forge consensus could not come up with the names of the working committee. There was further confusion inside the party after the election committee pasted an indefinite notice today.
The committee comprising NC General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka, Chief of party organisation Anand Dhungana and chief whip Chin Kaji Shrestha are trying to forge consensus by allotting 60 per cent to the establishment faction and 40 per cent to Sher Bahadur Deuba faction. The committee is struggling to forge consensus as the expectant candidates protested on the distribution of the posts.
There are 32 nominations for the 17-member NC parliamentary party working committee. 11 candidates have filed their nomination for five seats of the development regions and 21 candidates have filed their candidacy for 11 party's inclusive policy in the working committee.
