PM expands Cabinet; 3 ministers sworn in
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has expanded his Cabinet by inducting three ministers on Monday.Ekantipur Report
PM Koirala administered the oath of office and secrecy to Sunil Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) as the Minister for Commerce and Supplies, Giri Bahadur KC of RPP-N as the State Minister for Commerce and Supplies and Nilam KC of CPN-ML as the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare at the president's official residence in Sheetal Niwas.
Thapa is the son of RPP Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa while Nilam KC is CPN-ML General Secretary CP Mainali's spouse.
President Ram Baran Yadav, CA Chairman Subash Nembang, ministers, leaders of political parties, among other leaders, were present during the swearing in ceremony.
With the expansion, the incumbent Cabinet size has reached 24.
PM Koirala still retains the Defense Ministry, Peace and Reconstruction, Science, Technology and Environment Ministry and Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Ministry.
