The meeting which took place at CAN's office in Mid Baneshwor today could not reach any conclusion after CAN, the governing body of Nepali cricket, sought more time saying that few of the demands put forth by the cricketers were hard to be addressed. The meeting today lasted for five hours.
The two sides will again meet for meeting tomorrow.
The national cricketers have remained firm on their 10-point demand which also includes the resignation of CAN officials. The players have also floated an alternative proposal of forming a coordination committee which would rank higher than CAN.
Acting Secretary at Ministry of Youth and Sports, Shantiram Sharma, said there would be legal hurdles to do so as CAN was an elected body.
Earlier week, the disgruntled national cricket team had decided to boycott the ongoing One-day National cricket tournament demanding the ouster of the current cricket administrators.
Emerging from the meeting, national team skipper Paras Khadka informed that their struggle was not for salary and allowances. "We want to create a system," said Khadka," The struggle is not for allowances."
