“We have managed to accomplish the daunting task in eight months,” said taskforce chief Lieutenant Colonel Reshmi Raj Bhattarai, adding that Rs 9.6 million per kilometre was spent in construction. The track has been opened for vehicles since its completion in February. Though the government had allocated budget for only 12 kilometres, Bhattarai said they financed an additional one kilometre on their own for the benefit of locals.
The NA was able to complete the task in eight months with the assistance of consumers’ committee and locals, said Major Kiran Shrestha.
