Govt committed for development of Lumbini: PM
PM Sushil Koirala has said that government is committed for the development of Lumbini and other religious and historical sites by implementing the Lumbini Development Master Plan.Ekantipur Report
PM Koirala said so while inaugurating a programme organised on the occasion of 2558th Buddha Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, in Lumbini on Wednesday.
"Government will leave no stone unturned for the development of Lumbini," said Koirala, adding," The government is also committed to complete the master plan for the development of Buddha's birthplace and other historical sites associated with Buddha's life."
The prime minister further added that the South Asian countries had been lending their support for creating better road and air facilities to Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, adding that millions of Buddhist pilgrims are eager to visit the holiest shrine of Buddhists.
Koirala further added that the nation could no longer afford more conflict. He wished everybody would find inspiration to move ahead on the path of development, getting over previous episodes of conflict faced by the nation.
