Heavy winds blow away under-construction bridge in Chitwan

The Anak Construction Pvt was contracted to construct the bridge. Contractor Amrit Shrestha said that the bridge collapsed as the process of fitting the bolts was underway. The bridge is 80 meters long and was constructed using 250 tonnes of steel.
Over Rs 50 million was used in the constructing the bridge so far, Shrestha said. It was slated to be completed this November.
Engineer Hari Pokharel of the Division Road Office, Bharatpur said that the under-construction bridge has fallen down due to strong wind blowing from an unusual direction.
About, 70 per cent construction work of the bridge has been completed so far, engineer Pokharel said.
