UML forms Management Committee for GC

The CPN-UML General Convention Main Management Committee Office has been set up at the UML party headquarters in Kathmandu on Monday as part of its preparations for the upcoming 9th General Convention.
The UML conclave is taking place in the Capital in a month's time from July 3-7. UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal inaugurated the office after a press meet held to shed light on the preparations for the GC this afternoon.
The committee includes General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel, Secretary Shankar Pokahrel, Central Office Secretary Prithivi Subba Gurung and leader Bishnu Rimal as members.
The Central Committee meeting on Sunday has already endorsed the political report to be presented before the convention while deliberations on the organisational report and statute amendment proposal will begin today.
Some 250,000 members have already renewed their membership for the GC as of today, according to a press statement disseminated by the party at the press conference. Some 1,900 representatives including the central leaders are expected to take part in the conclave.
