Bimala Devi Yadav, 35, of Lalpatti VDC-1, Saptari has registered the complaint at the women's cell of the District Police Office against her husband Jaya Krishna, father-in-law Bauba Lal, mother-in-law Bhausi Devi and brothers-in-law Jaya Ram and Jaya Prakash.

Yadav has been currently taking shelter at the safe house after she was evicted from her house following severe beating at the hands of the accused a month ago. She was rescued by the crisis management centre at the Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj for treatment and temporary shelter.  

In the complaint filed today, Yadav has sought protection, respectful rehabilitation in her home, citizenship and marriage registration, and necessary action against the accused.

Meanwhile, in Hanuman Nagar VDC-1 of the district, a 46-year-old man was arrested on the charge of raping a local woman.

Hari Narayan Mahato was arrested on Sunday while he was sexually assaulting a woman at a field in Joganiya VDC-1 of the district, police said.
