Don't project health as my qualification for leadership: Oli
Jun 9, 2014-
CPN-UML parliamentary party (PP) leader KP Sharma Oli has expressed dissatisfaction over his weak health condition being projected as his qualification for the race of party leadership at the upcoming General Convention. The UML leader said that he would never compromise with anybody on irrational logic.
“Despite having changed my kidneys, I fought with ultra-leftists,” said Oli speaking at a gathering of party cadres in the Capital on Monday,” Rather the ones with healthy kidneys went for compromise.”
The former deputy prime minister further added that he has never compromised with ‘bad elements and thoughts’ during his long political career. Mentioning his battle with former king during royal take over, leader Oli professed that he struggled for life to safeguard the Nepali communist movement.
“When monarchy was in power, I fought against king and when Nepali Congress was powerful, I fought against them,” he said, “I also fought an ideological battle against Maoist’s ultra-left thinking.”
Oli, who is poised to stake claim over the party leadership at the upcoming GC, said that his political history has been like an open book, further adding that he has not let the communist flag down even since the Jhapa revolution.
