SLC results likely by Saturday
The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) is likely to publish the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination results by Saturday.A board meeting of the OCE held on Tuesday agreed to publish the results by the end of the current Nepali month. The OCE has already prepared the marks ledger, while the cross matching process is underway. The results will be announced after the completion of a final verification process in the next two days.
Examination Controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware said concerned authorities have been mobilised on a 24-hour basis to speed up the process. A board meeting after the final verification will decide on the grace marks depending upon the pass percentage, he said.
The OCE has been providing five grace marks to students who fail in a maximum of two subjects in order to increase the pass percentage. However, after immense pressure to turn around the falling success rate, the Ministry of Education is all set to increase the grace marks.
The SLC results will be published in seven websites, seven SMS services and one voice call service provider. The results are accessible through www.doe.gov.np , www.moe.gov.np, www.moe.gov.np, www.soce.gov.np and www.soce.gov.np among others. A total of 566,085 students—419,352 regular and 146,733 exempted—had registered for the examinations.
