Diarrhoea outbreak spreads further in Makawanpur

Diarrhoea has spread in various VDCs and the Hetauda Municipality in Makawanpur district since Thursday, with the rise in mercury and polluted source of drinking water, according to a source from the District Hospital, Hetauda.
As many as 60 diarrhoea patients have been admitted to the hospital since last evening to take medical services after they suddenly began to suffer from disease.
The hospital has been providing treatment keeping the patients in the emergency and Inpatient Department as the flow of the patients was high in the hospital.
Infants, children, and elderly people are mostly affected from diarrhoea, said Dr. Hari Prasad Khadka.
Khadka said the number of diarrhoea patients admitted in the hospital has seen a sudden rise as the source of drinking water was found polluted and the temperature in the district went up.
