Palpa health post improves service delivery

The health post now provides timely treatment to patients visiting the center with health workers reporting to duty on a regular basis and medicines available 24 hours a day.
General cleanliness and hygiene of the health post and its premises is also said to be satisfactory.
With the improvement in its service delivery, the health post now provides treatment to 11,000 patients every year against 2,000 in the past.
Likewise, complaint box has been installed in the office and a citizen’s charter has been installed to inform people about various kinds of health services provided by the health post.
Recalling the incident that took place four years ago when he had to return empty handed after failing to get medicines from the health post, local resident Yam Lal Timilsena said that the health post provides efficient and timely health care at this point of the time.
Social examiner Mahendra Darnal, who was assigned to conduct a thorough examination of the situation of the health posts in the district and the level of health services they provide by the District Public Health Office and an NGO called Health Skills Educational Development Centre, said that the health post has been found providing timely treatment to the local people and that people from two villages especially are found to have greatly benefited from the various kinds of services the health post provides.
Furthermore, doctors at the Lumbini Medical College provide maternity and birth-related service at the health post once every month.
The health post, which is also equipped with a birthing center for pregnant women, provides door-to-door health service regularly.
