Voters feel relief voting with EVM
Voters in Kailali constituency-6 have felt relief as they could cast vote with the help of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) here in the district on Sunday for the CA by-election.Ekantipur Report
The voters who were curious as well as anxious about possible difficulties to vote with the help of the EVM for the first time rather felt relief from waiting in long queue while also finding it easier to vote with the help of the machine.
"It was fast and easy to vote with the help of EVM," said Bharat Saud, of Dhangadhi municipality ward no. 2.
The District Election Office, Kailali, has fixed 75 booths in 30 polling centers in the constituency and, according to Bishak Sen Dhakal, District Election Officer.
The Office has managed a voting booth and a machine per every 900 voters. The EVM was exchanged at 'C' Center of the municipality's ward no. 6 after it developed a technical snag.
Dhakal said it has not been difficult to use EVM as the office had given classes for voters' education to use EVM for the last two months.
The Office would probably start the counting of votes by 7:00 pm today and the result of the by-elections are expected to be announced by late evening today itself, said Yagyaraj Bhatta, returning officer and district court judge.
As many as 15 candidates are competing from the constituency which has as many as 61,817 voters.
