UML lawmakers protest in Parliament over gangster Chari’s killing

The lawmakers claimed that ‘Chari’ was arrested from within Kathmandu ring-road and killed before taking his body to Bhimdhunga, where he is said to have killed in police encounter, to deceive the people.
Speaking at legislature-parliament meeting on Thursday, lawmakers from Dhading district—Rajendra Pandey, Gangalal Tuladhar and Guru Burlakoti—contested the police claim saying that there was no sign of blood stain in the so call-called shootout spot though ‘Chari’ has sustained eight bullets.
One of the lawmakers claimed that Chari’s murder is an act of revenge by a police officer. The police officer was pressuring Adhikari’s fiancée Khusbu Oli not to marry him, the lawmakers claimed. They claimed that the police officer, who was infatuated with Oli, had allegedly said he would spend Rs 5 million to kill ‘Chari’.
The lawmakers did not divulge the officer’s name but revealed that he was officially posted at Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), Hanumandhoka.
The lawmakers have demanded the government suspend SP at MPDC, Puskar Karki, and take ahead the investigation procedure. They demanded the position of Home Ministry regarding the incident.
They further said that anyone found guilty should be punished according to the law.
Also at today’s legislature parliament meet, women lawmakers protested against the gang rape of a teen girl inside a passenger bus in Nepalgunj and demanded action against the guilty. The demanded the rapists should be given life sentence along with confiscation of entire property.
House speaker Subash Nembang ruled the government inform the parliament about Nepalgunj rape case and the killing of Adhikari.
