Hundreds of houses of Deukhuri area waterlogged
Different VDCs of Deukhuri area in Dang district have been waterlogged from Thursday night due to incessant rainfall for the past three days.Villages of Sisahaniya, Lalmatiya and Sonpur VDCs have been inundated due to this.
According to the District Police Office, Dang, hundreds of houses of these VDCs have been waterlogged due to floods on local Dolahi and Sigai rivulets.
Although different goods including clothes and food grain have been swept away after the floods enter the houses last night, no human casualty has been reported yet, said police.
APF Superintendent of Police at the APF Jwalamai Battalion, Bhalubang, Bimal Dangi said that police teams deployed from Area Police Office, Lamahi, APF Border Security Force Office, Arjunkhola, Jwalamai Battalion, Bhalubang, have reached the waterlogged areas soon after the incident and shifted the locals to the safer places.
Rescue operation is still on at the areas.
Similarly, water level on Rapti River has now increased. Ten VDCs of Deukhuri area are at high risk as the river passes through the 10 VDCs.
Likewise, more than 50 houses of Urahari VDC are at the risk due to flood on Babai River. The locals have now been taking shelter at their relatives.
Traffic along longue and short route has been completely halted due to floods on different rivulets along the Tulsipur-Ghorahi-Lamahi road section following the incessant rainfall.
