Natural disaster-affected people of eastern parts of the district including Narayanpur, Dhansinghpur, Thapapur, Manuwa, Pathraiya, Durgauli, Bhajani, Pahalmanpur and Janakinagar were provided with relief materials through the Nepal Red Cross Society.

As of today, the Committee distributed 58 quintals of food stuffs (beaten rice, noodles, biscuits etc) and six quintals of rice, dal, salt and cooking oil to the flood victims, District Administration Office Administrative Officer Chiranjibi Ghimire said.   

Meanwhile, Care Nepal, a non government organisation, has provided food stuffs equivalent to 30 quintals for the Kailali flood victims.

Likewise, The Lutheran World Federation has deposited Rs. 50,000 in the bank account of the Committee. Fifty households hit by the natural disaster have received non-food items from the Federation, Ghimire said.

It may be noted that three people had been killed, 11 houses completely damaged and 145 suffered partial damages in the recent flood and inundation in the district. Flood from the Karnali River six days ago entered into nearby human settlements, throwing the normal life out of gear.

According to preliminary survey report conducted in the disaster-hit areas, the flood affected 2,614 families.

The affected have complained that they have to struggle hard to manage two squares of meals as they lost all belongings in the flood.
