A single bench of Justice Gopal Parajuli was responding to a petition filed by Adhikari’s elder brother Dhurva. Dhurva argued that his brother's murder was extra judicial and that the Home Ministry and police administration refused to investigate the incident.
Police had earlier refused to register a complaint by the Adhikari family. Gangster Adhikari was gunned down at Bhimdhunga, 7 km from Sitapaila, in the Capital on August 6. Chief of Metropolitan Police Range SSP Uttam Kumar Karki, Crime Investigation Division chief SSP Pushkar Karki, DSP Mira Chaudhari, Inspector Kumud Dhungel and Arpan Koirala, former beau of Dinesh’s girlfriend Khusbu Oli have been named as the defendants in the writ.
