Destroyed by the August 15 floods. The failure has led to cut off of power supply from Lamki in Kailali to Kohalpur in Banke. Local people accused NEA authorities of showing negligence in repairing the damaged tower. Mithilesh Gohiwar, chief of the power grid at Attariya in Kailali, said that a technical team from the centre inspected the damaged electricity tower some days ago in a bid to repair it. .

“It takes one or two months to repair the damaged tower or it will take more than six months in case a new electricity tower is to be constructed,” he said, adding that it requires Rs 7 to 8 million to construct a new electricity tower to replace the damaged transmission line. Jiban Shahi of Bardiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accused the NEA of being least concerned about repairing the damaged tower, adding that they would take to the streets if the damaged tower is not repaired within a week.
