Govt attorney seeks 25-day remand of CK Raut
The government attorney on Thursday demanded 25-day remand of Chandra Kant Raut, arrested on the charge of being involved in a secessionist campaign.Ekantipur Report
In response to a habeas corpus writ, Raut, who was arrested on September 14 from Morang district, will be presented before the Supreme Court on Friday in person. Police had brought Raut to Kathmandu this morning from Morang.
The apex court had ordered Morang police to present Raut before the court by September 19.
Raut had been booked under the Public Offence Act. The Morang District Administration Office on Sunday remanded Raut to a six-day custody to probe his campaign for “independent Madhes”. The District Attorney Office has already recorded Raut’s statement.
According to a police source, evidences are being collected to file charge-sheet against Raut after his alleged involvement in secessionist was found through Raut’s statement, his book and confiscated documents.
