Ex-PMs, well-wishers visit former king Shah at Norvic
Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai among hundreds of well wishers visited former king Gyanendra Shah at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu on Sunday.Ekantipur Report
Former PMs Bhattarai, Kirti Nidhi Bista, Tulsi Giri, Lokendra Bahadur Chand, former minister Padma Sundar Lawati, among others, visited Shah to wish him a speedy recovery.
Bhattarai wrote down “wishing for the speedy recovery of former king Gyanendra” in the book placed at the hospital.
According to Dr. Bharat Rawat, director of the hospital, Shah underwent angiography and angioplasty of his heart at around 11.30pm, Saturday, and is responding well to the treatment. Doctors have placed a stent in his blood vessel to remove the blockage, sources said.
Shah was admitted to Norvic International Hospital in the Capital at around 10:00 pm yesterday after he complained of chest pain, profuse sweating, nausea and dizziness, sources said. He has been undergoing treatment at bed no 501 of VVIP Lounge of Norvic Hospital.
The former king’s father Mahendra Shah had died of heart attack while his son Paras Shah has suffered two heart attacks in the past.
