The agitation has already completed day nine. People visiting the hospital seeking treatment are being denied treatment due to the agitation.
The Citizens' Rights Protection Committee, Dharan on Wednesday held a symbolic protest against the apathy of authorities concerned towards hard times facing patients due to the agitation.
The protest in which people associated with the committee tied black bands on their eyes for an hour is aimed at mounting pressure on bodies concerned to take a step to address problems, committee chairman Prem Kumar Rai said. We have blindfolded ourselves as they have turned a blind eye to the problems, he added.
The committee has urged the hospital management to address the just demands of agitating employees and seek a way out to the problems. Meanwhile, Nepali Congress regional President Chandra Prasad Shrestha, CPN-UML town in-charge and district member Pradeep Bhandari, NC town president Rishor Rai, UML town chairman Tara Subba, and teacher Tara Niroula have underlined the need of resuming the hospital service at the earliest.
Society Chairman Sujendra Tamang accused the Institute officials of doing nothing to implement the agreement reached the two sides on December 16.
