Earlier today, the opposition parties obstructed the Legislature-Parliament meeting demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe panel to look into the Bara police firing incident.

One local Jayanarayan Patel was killed in police firing at Simroungadh of Bara district on Saturday while the locals were staging demonstration to press for the repair and maintenance of road.

Lawmakers of the opposition parties walked out of the Parliament before the meeting entered into its regular schedule.

Earlier, Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang provided time for Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav to speak.

Speaking at the meeting, Yadav demanded formation of a parliamentary investigation committee, declaration of the deceased as martyr and compensation to the family of the deceased.

Lawmaker Yadav accused the government of shooting at innocent people with an intention to suppress the Madhesi people, who were just demanding road construction in their locality.

Speaker Nembang stopped the meeting for half an hour urging the ruling and opposition parties to reach an understanding.
