Intl conference on Nanotechnology kicks off in Capital
The International Conference on Advanced Material and Nanotechnology for sustainable development (ICAMN)-2014 has kicked off in the Capital on Monday.Ekantipur Report
The conference being organised by Nepal Chemical Society (NCS) in co-operation with the Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University, will until November 6.
More than 200 delegates, including 50 renowned scientists from 15 different countries, are participating in the four-day conference during which more than 150 research papers will be presented and discussed.
The speakers of the inauguration program emphasised on the need of developing the sector of science and technology. They also urged the scientists to develop new technologies so as to assist in the overall development of the country.
Constituent Assembly members Rabindra Adhikari and Ranjeet Karna, who were also present in the programme, said that the government should allocate enough budget for research and development.
The inauguration function was chaired by Deba Bahadur Khadka, President of NCS, while the concluding remarks were given by Prof. Dr. Megh Raj Pokhrel, chairman of the conference.
