The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) held consultations on Thursday to pile pressure on the political parties to promulgate the democratic constitution on time.Ekantipur Report
The FNJ started to receive the suggestions to pressurise the political parties to promulgate the new constitution from the Constituent Assembly on time as per the decision of its Central Committee meeting held at Ghalegaun in Lamjung on November 1.
The FNJ sought suggestions from the office-bearers of the parliamentary affairs journalist society and the journalists reporting the parliamentary affairs.
On the occasion, the journalists suggested that the FNJ should run an interaction programme among the top leaders of the major political parties and telecast/broadcast it by seeking a meeting point on federalism and form of governance to issue the new constitution by January 22.
The FNJ has also asked its network affiliates to organise interaction programmes with the political leaders and lawmakers on the same issue in order to make the programme effective.
Seeking suggestions from the journalists, FNJ President Mahendra Bista said piling pressure on the political parties was the need of the hour to promulgate the constitution on time and to guide the country to the path of prosperity.
