Taskforce to enquire condition of Nepali women workers abroad
A seven-member taskforce has been formed to acquire information about the condition of Nepali women workers taking shelter in Nepali Embassy in Kuwait.Information to these would be sought from the human rights defenders, foreign employment entrepreneurs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management.
The taskforce equivalent to parliamentary subcommittee was formed by the meeting of the parliamentary committee on social justice and human rights. The taskforce is formed under the coordination of Nepali Congress CA member Shiva Bahadur Khadka.
It is mandated to garner information from the concerned authorities and submit its report within three weeks.
Meanwhile, another five-member subcommittee has been formed to visit the jails in different districts and take stock of the human rights situation there. The subcommittee is coordinated by CPN-UML's lawmaker Pancha Karna Rai.
The meeting also formed peace and reconstruction subcommittee, human rights subcommittee and the social justice subcommittee. RSS
