Party’s Central Committee (CC) meeting which kicked off at the party central office in Buddhanagar on Saturday made the decision to ask clarification from leader Chand.

A CC member informed that the meeting decided to take action against Chand as he acted against party’s norms and policies. CPN-Maoist politburo had asked Secretary Chand to not act against party’s welfare.

Chairman Mohan Baidya floated a proposal of action against leader Chand in today’s meeting. The participating CC members supported Chairman Baidya’s proposal.

Only thirty CC members from the establishment faction have taken part in the meeting while ten CC members aligned to secretary Chand did not turn up for the meeting.

Though the meeting was scheduled to begin at 11:00 am, it began after two hours of delay. Chand faction's CC members were awaited but in vain, said the party sources.

The meeting has been called to settle the intraparty dispute. Secretary Chand has warned to split the party if their demands were not paid heed by the party leadership. Chand faction recently organised a two-day ‘central interaction’ event in Kapilvastu.
