The meeting is expected to endorse Chand’s dossier, which among others, has decided to wage another “armed rebellion” in the country, sources attending the meeting told the Post. They said that there would be in-depth discussion on modality, strategy and date for the formation of new party.
Sources said a number of CPN-Maoist top leaders, including politburo members Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma and Dharmendra Bastola were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, leaders from the establishment faction claimed the split would not affect the party as Chand does not have enough cadres. Around 12 CC members and 20 alternative CC members are in the Chand panel. He also has significant following in party’s sister wings, including Civil Servants’ Union.
