RPP-N to hold Rath Yatra for Hindu state
Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal has decided to take out a Rath Yatra (chariot procession) from Mechi to Mahakali to exert pressure on the governmentThe party said it will start the procession from Kakadvitta in Jhapa on December 24 and continue it for 10 days before concluding the procession at Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. RPP-N will also be holding mass gatherings along the procession route. The chariot procession will reach Mahakali along the East-West Highway and return via Butwal-Syangja and Pokhara, before concluding in Kathmandu.
According a statement issued by RPP-N on Wednesday a central organising committee has been formed led by party Chairman Kamal Thapa to supervise
the procession. Twenty-two subcommittees have also been formed to support the campaign.
The RPP-N is the only mainstream party that has been lobbying for the reinstatement of Hindu state and monarchy. It has long been staging various programme to garner public support for these causes. The party has been demanding for the referendum on the religion and monarchy.
RPP postpones youth wing’s convention
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party on Wednesday postponed the general convention of its youth wing, National Youth Association. The party said in a statement that the general convention at the central level had to be postponed as a number of district committees have failed to hold their convention which is necessary for the selection of representatives for general convention. The GC was scheduled to take place in the Capital on Sunday.
