Especially, light vehicles and motorcyclists have been facing a very hard time owing to the lack of motorable bridges over the rivers and streams, according to locals. In more than a dozen road sections including Tansen-Purbakhola-Jyamire, Siluwa-Archale, Beldanda-Mityal, Kirtipur-Gandakot, Gothadi-Puktung, Masyam-Koldanda, motorcyclists have been facing a hard-time crossing the rivers. Likewise, light vehicles travelling to Dobhan, Somadi, Bhuwanpokhari, Rahabas face tremendous difficulties crossing the rivers for a period of five months when the rivers are swollen.
According to local Nanda Prasad Neupane of Ringneraha, all transport services are affected in most of the remote VDCs during the time of heavy rainfalls over a period of one month from mid-May to mid-June.
Meanwhile, owing to the absence of even suspension bridges, locals of west Ringneraha, Archale, Siluwa, Jyamire, Jalpa and other remote VDCs have a hard time getting by even on foot and are compelled to wade their way through the rivers, putting their lives at serious risk in the process.
Locals said that students are the ones that are affected the most by the problem as they are compelled to give up their studies for two to three months every year due to the problem. They said though they have informed the
concerned authorities about the situation time and again, but all of that have fallen on deaf ears.
