3 dead as high tension wire snap in Ramechhap
Three people were electrocuted after a high tension wire snapped here at Doramba of Ramechhap district early Sunday morning.Tika Prasad Bhatta
According to police, a high tension wire snapped and got connected with another wire of transmission line resulting in the incident. Those who tried to turn on the switch at their houses died due to high voltage, it has been learnt.
The deceased have been identified as Indra Bahadur Magar, Chandika Lal Tamang, of Doramba-5, and Amber Bahadur Thapa Magar, of Bodal, Doramba-7, said District Police Office DSP Dipak Kumar Shah said.
Meanwhile, Rajendra Rai, a teacher at Kakling HS School, and Jetha Bishwakarma, of Doramba-7, among others, have sustained injuries during the incident due to high voltage.
The injured are receiving treatment at local Doramba Health Post.
However, the extent of the damage caused by the accident has yet to be ascertained.
DSP Shah informed that police personnel have been directed to visit every house in the area as there could be other who sustained injuries. The current is supplied to every household of Doramba-5, Mane, and ward number 7.
According to Kakling HS School principal, Kabindra Tamang, the high voltage current also damaged the transformer. He further informed that the victims got electrocuted when they switched on the light after waking up at around 1:30 am on Sunday.
