Jaykar memorial Tennis: Shah claims U-9 girls’ singles title
Rayana Shah clinched the U-9 girls’ singles title of the 13th Jaykar Memorial Junior Tennis Championships here on Thursday.Shah eased to an 8-0 victory over Aja Regmi in the championship battle. Making it to the U-9 boys’ singles final were Ranav Singh and Aditya Subedi. Singh dispatched Aki Juben 8-4 and Subedi got the better of Arav Samrat Hada 8-3 in the semi-finals.
Adit Subedi and Arjan Giri set the U-10 boys’ singles title clash. Adit recorded battling 8-5 win over Juben while Giri overcame Aditya 8-4 in last four clash. In the U-10 girls’ singles semi-finals, Saloni Tamang eased to a 8-1 win over Manavi Shah and Isha Shree Shah beat Rayana 8-3.
Samyak Bhusan Bajracharya and Sulabh Dhital secured the U-12 boys’ singles final berths. Samyak eased past Pramod Budathoki 6-1, 6-0 and Dhital eliminated Chhabi Lal Bishwokarma 7-5, 6-4 in semi-finals.
Likewise, Renjan Lama beat Prashant Basnet 6-0, 6-2 and Samrakshyak Bhusan Bajracharya overcame Dipesh Khatri 6-1, 6-1 in the U-14 boys’ singles semi-finals.
Mayanka Rana inflicted a double bagel on Radha Bhujel, Mahika overcame a second set debacle to beat Khushi Pandey 6-0, 2-6, 6-1, Ira Raut dispatched Catherine Mathema 6-4, 7-6 and Ani Mathema double bageled Ishika Agrawal in the U-14 girls’ singles semi-finals.
