Speaking in a news conference held at Chandranigahapur of Rautahat district on Tuesday, Thapa said it would be unfortunate if attempts are made to formulate a constitution through the politics of negation.
The RPP-N chairman said his party's demand was for declaring Nepal as a Sanatan Hindu state in a new constitution with respect to all religions.
He also reiterated that the new constitution should be promulgated on the slated time and the constitution should be drafted through consensus and if not even by going for a referendum.
Chairman Thapa said he has advised the UCPN (Maoist) to push for holding a referendum to establish its agenda if it was its intention and not through street protests and movement.
