Major parties form taskforce to resolve disputes

The meeting of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Front held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday formed the taskforce with an objective to create an environment conducive to draft the constitution in its slated time by reconciling the disputes.
NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula, UML Deputy Chairman Bhim Rawal, UCPN (M) General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Sadvawana Party’s Co-Chairman Laxman Lal Karna are the members of the taskforce.
UML leader Rawal informed that the taskforce will focus on the constitution drafting. “The taskforce will submit its report within two days,” he said, adding,” However, it will not discuss the formation or the expansion of the government.”
Meanwhile, UML senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal said, if taskforce fails to forge consensus, the constitution will be drafted through the voting process.
