Himun is a part of Model United Nations (Mun)—an educational gathering of the United Nations—in which the participants representing different countries learn about diplomacy, international relations and the United Nations. Himun intends to introduce the culture of nurturing young minds to act as global citizens through conferences here in Nepal.

With the growing interest in Mun conferences in the Capital, Himun promises to be a significant event aiming not only to reinforce awareness about global concerns, but also to teach participants skills which would bolster debate, research, public speaking, writing, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership abilities. The conference is expected to see more than 500 participants from across the globe.
